Dean Singleton
Founded in 2016, I started Arrowhead Recording with the idea that each cut of every song would mirror the original recording as close as could be, Pulling songs from Billboard’s Top 100 — from country to pop to rock n’ roll — it was my idea that to get the songs that I wanted produced into the square dance scene. Sometimes you have to take the bull by the horns and do it yourself.
Utilizing Nashville’s world renown musician Michael Salacuse and others, Arrowhead has showcased such hits as Johnny Preston’s If You Could Read My Mind (Gordon Lightfoot), Mike Seastrom’s Don’t Bring Me Down (Electric Light Orchestra), Philipp Kamm & Dean Singleton’s Take It Easy (Eagles), Jerry Story’s Lodi (Credence Clearwater Revival) and Tony Oxendine’s Mr. Bojangles (Nitty Gritty Band). Additionally, many of the patters have been heard at dance halls around the world including Happy Feet, Shaken Not Stirred, Tico Tico, Koda and Broken Arrow to name a few.
Josh Ransom
My name is Joshua Ransom, and I’m a square dance caller from Mountain City, Tennessee. I’m 18 years old, and square dancing has already become an important part of my life. I’ve been involved in square dancing for 10 years and have been calling for 3 years!
My journey began at a young age, and my love for the music, dancing, and people has continued to grow. What started as an interest has developed into something I’m truly passionate about. I enjoy bringing energy and excitement to the dance floor while helping dancers have a great time.
I currently call weekly for the Young at Heart Square and Line Dance Club of Mountain City, Tennessee. Calling for the club has helped me continue learning, developing my skills, and gaining valuable experience. I also enjoy traveling to different clubs and events and meeting dancers from different areas.
My experience includes traditional square dances, party dances, line dances, youth groups, and traveling engagements.
One of the things I’m especially excited and proud about is becoming a staff caller for Arrowhead Recording. Additionally, I’m a CALLERLAB member and am BMI and ASCAP licensed as well. I look forward to continuing to grow as a caller, recording artist, and entertainer while being part of an organization that has played an important role in square dance music.
For me, square dancing is about much more than calling dance moves. It’s about music, friendship, laughter, community, and bringing people together. I love seeing dancers having fun and knowing I’ve played a small part in creating that experience.
As a young caller, I feel fortunate to have discovered square dancing and to have opportunities to learn and grow within this wonderful community. I hope to continue developing my craft, meeting new people, traveling to new places, and doing my part to help carry square dancing into the next generation.
I’m excited about where this journey is taking me, and I’m grateful to everyone who has encouraged, supported, and believed in me along the way.
God bless!
